Mr. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! reminded me about my very own high school car and photo. This is the 1983 Datsun 280ZX I bought in high school for $3,000. What were your high school cars?

I had a 1981 280ZX in college...for about 4 months. It’s still in my Dad’s garage and I'm plotting how to get it back.

What happened to it? The ZX’s don;t get a lot of love but they’re great cars.

Very nice. A friends dad had one of those and I always liked it.

98 V6 Camaro. 200HP to the rear wheels doesn’t seem like much now, but it was enough to make me lose control and hit a wall. Sorry future son, you’re not getting anything even remotely sporty.

‘83 Mazda B-2000. Taught me the meaning of “driving a slow car fast.”

Just the worst cellphone picture of my XJ. I miss that thing.

These are the first cars I bought... the seven replaced the rotting Volvo once I came to terms with my limited skill/budget at the time. circa 1999.

Nice! Two cars I’d love to own.

Not my pic, but it was exactly like this.

I have no pictures of them or me with them, but in high school I had an ‘81 Accord LX hatchback and an ‘86 Civic Si. I wish I still had the Civic, but I’m glad to not be anywhere around that rusty hulk of an Accord.
Also, get off my lawn...
...high school in 2007....*shakes head*

Oh man. That is THE high school car. I had an ‘88 Firebird Formula in college.

Best seats I’ve ever experienced in a car with a seat that folded down into a bed in the back.

The wagon of shaggin

Oddly enough I had the only IROC. There were a couple v6 in high school.

Indeed. My gf’s dad was none to pleased about my hand-me-down set of wheels.

A 1998 Chevy C1500 W/T. Terrible on gass, underpowered for a truck, a horrendous automatic that only shifted half the time, and a mysterious phantom misfire that I never did figure out. But I loved it. I would buy it back in a heartbeat if I had the chance.

No high school car for me. 18 was the minimum age for your first driving
lesson
here. Add a few months for training, and you’re at 18 and 4 months. Or, in my case, about the age I was during the final exams ending high school.

This is how we rolled in the 90s. My buddys 83 turbo and my 85.

That’s awesome. The 280ZX turbo is a car I’d love to own.

Oh, I adored it. Still do, even though it’s an automatic. The fuel pump failed and my dad never got around to fixing it so it’s been sitting for the past 15 years. I have a feeling his wife would love to clear out some space so I'm hoping I'll have it back someday.

Mine was an auto too, actually. Fuel pump on these isn’t that bhard to replace. Hopefully you can get yours back on the road soon!

Damn, I want that car now, screw high-school.

that is a super easy fix. like a 15 minute job max.

I had a 92 Mazda Protege. Nothing fancy at all

It was then. Now it also needs the “sitting 15 years” treatment :(
Plus it's 1,600 miles away.
